We are pleased to welcome Molly Fenske to Praedium! She is joining us as a Program Manager for Premier Dairy Solutions.
Molly graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science with a minor in Spanish. She most recently worked for Iowa Select Farms as an Animal Well-Being Specialist where she conducted employee training, created and edited Standard Operating Procedures and conducted animal well-being and biosecurity audits on various farms.
During her time at Iowa State, she worked in various research labs including Dairy Goat Research, Post-Dip Trials and Nutritional Physiology Lab Dairy Research. She also worked on both the dairy farm and in the horse barns.
Molly was also very involved in leadership activities at Iowa State. She was an Animal Science Peer Mentor, STARS representative, Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, ISU Marching Band Student Staff & Guide, and a Destination Iowa State Team Leader. She was also a member of Alpha Sigma Kappa and Tau Beta Sigma sororities.
We are excited to have Molly with us. She brings enthusiasm and energy to her work and we are looking forward to her being part of the team!
Dr. Jim Reynolds, DVM Joins Praedium Ventures LLC
December 15, 2015– Urbandale, Iowa – Praedium Ventures LLC announces the hiring of Dr. Jim Reynolds as the new Vice President of Consulting. Dr. Reynolds is currently a Professor, Large Animal Medicine and Welfare, Western University, College of Veterinary Medicine, Pomona, CA. Dr. Reynolds is well known in the dairy industry and academia for his work in farm animal welfare, calf management, production livestock medicine, mastitis control and sustainable agriculture.
“We are thrilled to have Dr. Reynolds join the company,” said Earl Dotson, CEO. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in animal welfare and on-farm dairy production, and we look forward to his expertise in working with our dairy clients.” Dotson stated Reynolds will be heading up the new Premier Dairy Solutions program for Praedium which includes an on-farm analysis of a farm’s animal handling and care practices, a review of standard operating procedures, animal caretaker training, crisis management and emergency action plan procedures and training, and a worker care program.
“I’m very excited to be joining such a progressive and forward-thinking company as Praedium,” stated Reynolds. “The work we will be conducting is really cutting-edge for the dairy industry and I look forward to being on-farm to work one-on-one with our clients.”
Dr. Reynolds has served as chair of both the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Bovine Practitioners’ Animal Welfare Committees, he is a member of the California Veterinary Medical Association Animal Welfare Committee, was a founding board member of Professional Animal Auditor Certification Organization, and is a member of the scientific committee of the American Humane Association. He has worked throughout the US and internationally. He joins Praedium on January 4, 2016.
5th Annual Executive Women in Agriculture Conference
Last week, Mackenzie Dierks, Director of Food Safety, attended the 5th Annual Executive Women in Agriculture Conference held in Chicago, IL. This conference aims to inspire, challenge and motivate women and give them valuable insights to take home and improve their farm business.
For two days, women from across the nation had the opportunity to listen to exceptional speakers in areas ranging from Money & Management to Leadership & Advocacy, success stories, and panels discussing What’s Ahead for 2016.
“This is a wonderful event that brings together a diverse group of women to learn from one another, whether they have been in the industry six months or 60 years” said Dierks. “I always come away feeling inspired by the work being done in agriculture and excited to see what the future holds.”
