Advisor of the Year

We would like to express our congratulations to our Senior Director of Design and Development, Keri Retallick, and her husband Kevin on being recognized as Advisor of the Year at the 2014 National Junior Angus Show (NJAS) in Indianapolis, IN by the National Junior Angus Association.

The Retallicks have been advisors since 1997. They are a positive example to youth involved in raising cattle, setting a high standard of excellence for the Wisconsin Junior Angus Association (WJAA).  They have been named WJAA advisors of the year five times, and in 2002 they were co-chairs of the NJAS held in Milwaukee, WI.

As the Senior Director of Design and Development at Praedium, Retallick is responsible for the design and implementation of new programs..  She has extensive knowledge and experience in the agriculture industry with a strong background in animal welfare, and is a valued member of the Praedium team.  Congratulation Keri, and keep up the great work!

Agriculture is all around us on the 4th of July whether you notice it or not!  As we prepare for our countries 238th birthday, stop and think about everything that farmers provide.  Whether it is your neighborhood gathering, a family reunion, or just a backyard celebration, we use this holiday as a time to get together and enjoy our favorite summer foods.

Potato salad, green beans, strawberries, watermelon, sweetcorn, hot dogs, grilled ribs, fried chicken, ice cream and so much more!  These are just some of the amazing food that we eat while celebrating the Fourth of July.  As we are celebrating this great holiday with friends and family, it is important to remember food and grilling safety!  Here are just a few key tips to remember to keep everyone safe this holiday!

– Use the refrigerator or sealed packages in cold water to thaw meat slowly and safely

– Use ice packs to keep the temperature of food at 40°F during transportation

– Place coolers out of direct sunlight and avoid opening the lid too often

– Don’t use the same platter or utensils for both raw and cooked meat to prevent food borne

illness
