Spring – the time for planning and projects
Spring has sprung. Well, sort of… With nice weather comes more work for farmers. Fields are being prepared, seed has been purchased and all we can do is wait and see what the weather will bring. In the Midwest last weekend it brought both 80° temps and snow within 48 hours. With that in mind it’s often best to focus on the things that we can control, or at least prepare for.
In the [wind] vane of weather, water is always a hot topic. When we need it to rain it won’t, and when we need it to stop it just keeps coming. Here at Praedium we can work with you to develop an irrigation management plan for the times when you don’t have enough water. We also develop nutrient and manure management plans as well as conservation plans, which can be very helpful when dealing with an abundance of water.
Do you live somewhere that spring and fall also mean tornado season? We have extensive experience in the realm of Crisis Management training and planning as well as Emergency Action Plan development.
Maybe you just want to start planning for the future of your land and whatever weather or other factors may bring. We can work with you to develop a tailored sustainability plan that focuses on what’s important to your farm, whether you have animals or crops, and how to maintain its longevity.
Like the scouts say – Be Prepared!
